The first minigolf Cup of Technopolis GS in Gusev

On September 28, 2014, the town of Gusev, Kaliningrad region, hosted the first minigolf tournament of Technopolis GS. Participants who were ranked first three places were awarded prizes from the organizers – the Creative platform GS Fund and the Champion sports equipment shop.

20 participants from among the Technopolis GS enterprises employees and Gusev residents declared their will to participate in the minigolf tournament. Prior to the competition, organizers held a series of free workshops for everyone. Participants had the opportunity to work out the stroke technique on playground. According to feedback from sportsmen, even those who have never hold a Golf club, managed to do almost everything under the guidance of coach, and the game itself seemed to be rather complicated, but exciting.

Organizers prepared and mounted 9 fields in the territory of the Gusev sports and recreation centre. It enabled 20 participants to get ready for the competition optimally in a short space of time and perform curious combinations on the golf course. Nine players showed the best results, three of them were awarded prizes from the tournament organizers. Maxim Saparov, Engineer of equipment adjustment and utilization, and Ksenia Zaitseva, Equipment Operator, GS Nanotech, ranked third and second places, respectively, received gyroscopic exercise equipment to develop hands muscles. The winner – resident of Gusev Ruslan Abakarov – was also awarded the Technopolis GS Cup.

The sports event, being unique for the town, gathered over 50 participants of the tournament and workshops, as well as fans from among sportsmen relatives and friends along with media representatives. After the competition, playing ground was disassembled and placed for storage in the Gusev sports and recreation centre. According to organizers, the tournament has generated keen interest among participants, so it is planned to continue arranging it on a regular basis.

"I am content indeed that the tournament was successfully held. I was mostly worried because of the weather and it finally did not disappoint us. It’s really pleasant that people whom I was asking for help during the preparations for the event, were willingly helping me and supporting my idea," – comments Maxim Savitsky, Engineering Designer of GS Nanotech, the tournament organizer. – Children and adults enthusiastically participated in the tournament and it was clear that everyone was excited. We hope that participants will share impressions with their friends and families and the next time they will join us".
