GS Group investment and industry holding held a range of events within Innoprom 2014. Russia’s main industrial trade fair took place on July 09-12, 2014 in Ekaterinburg. On July 10 the holding experts spoke at the conference on successful experience of GS Group entering own digital Pay TV operators to the Southeast Asia markets. The next day GS Group introduced new chrome plating technologies using NCM Chrome nano-additive within the round table.
GS Group experts arranged an industry round table on July 11 on “The new generation of composite chromium coatings”. The event gathered representatives of over 30 companies, participating in the trade fair, including material engineers, directors of engineering services, production directors and other experts.
The new chrome plating technology based on special nanostructured carbon additive was introduced by Vladimir Kokhia, Deputy General Director on innovative technologies of the Prancor factory, a part of innovation cluster Technopolis GS, and General Director of LLC Nanostructured Carbon Materials.
According to the speaker, the new method allows reducing energy and materials consumption, and duration of chroming products. Wear - and heat-resistance, hardness and other properties of the products using NCM Chrome technology are much higher than when using traditional chroming methods.
Development and wide application of NCM in various industries is one of GS Group key activities. The holding has got NCM mass-manufactured first in Russia and keeps developing innovative ways of using it since last year. A new chrome plating technology to give materials the unique properties, as well as nano-additive, used in it, are GS Group own development. Nano-additive is manufactured in innovation cluster Technopolis GS, developed by the holding in Kaliningrad region.
Presentation of NCM Chrome technology was a real highlight of the exhibition. All the round table participants showed a keen interest in GS Group developments, some enterprises expressed intent to start using the new technology at their manufactures. Moreover, the holdings representatives got a range of proposals on joint developments to expand the scope of NCM application. Prospects of further cooperation with a number of the largest metallurgical and metal-working companies were outlined in the course of negotiations, arranged within the exhibition. In particular, international community, Germany and China above all, took a great interest in the GS Group innovative nano-additive.
In 2013 innovation cluster Technopolis GS, located in the town of Gusev, Kaliningrad region, was one of the first enterprises in Russia to manufacture nanostructured materials. Today NCM Chrome nano-additive is put into mass production.
