General Satellite has unveiled plans to commence the construction of GS Ecopulp, hi-tech full-cycle European quality production of molded paper packaging. This statement was made at the world leading fair of industrial innovations in Hannover, Germany
GS Ecopulp will become the sixth manufacture within the innovative cluster “The territory of scientific and technological development Technopolis GS” in Kaliningrad region. The general investor and initiator of the project is General Satellite Corporation, the leading Russian developer and producer of TV receiving equipment.
Gearing to the high level of eco-friendly technology and services GS Ecopulp is to become the largest innovative manufacturer of molded paper in the North-West region of Russia already by 2016. The opening of the plant is scheduled for May 2013. During the event in Hannover the project of GS Ecopulp was introduced to the Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov and honorable international delegates. “Any region, targeting at innovative development has large horizons in future” – the Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov commented.
In Hannover General Satellite has also demonstrated its know-how in the field of new materials. This topic has become one of the core subjects at the exhibition. Production of carbon nanostructured materials (ART-NANO) recently launched in Technopolis GS was one of the most promising exhibit items at Hannover expo. Activation line of carbon nanomaterials raised particular interest among the international audience. Adding ART-NANO in a variety of materials can significantly improve their properties.
The decision to present innovations in nanomaterials and announce the construction plans at Hannover Messe was due to the general theme of the fair as well as international orientation of the new enterprise. Russia was chosen as a partner country of the exhibition this year. The announcement at the stand of Kaliningrad region showed the innovative trend of the cluster, region and the country as a whole. GS Ecopulp will be the first plant within the unique Russian private innovation cluster initially aimed at raising sustainability of production process.
