A. Chubais visiting Technopolis GS

The head of RUSNANO A. Chubais visited the only Russian microelectronics Technopolis successfully operating since 2008, in the framework of his official visit to Kaliningrad region. He put forward a proposal to offer the products of Technopolis plants at the European markets. The integrated project of Technopolis comprises five hi-tech plants forming the East Europe’s largest electronics production cluster.

Members of the delegation demonstrated their particular interest to GS-Nanotech – Center for microelectronics development, research and production, being ready at 90% for commissioning, with inauguration scheduled for autumn of 2011. The only plant in Russia providing encapsulating services for external customers is to organize a production line for assembling and testing mono-crystal microprocessors with topology of 45nm.

During the meeting with General Satellite representatives at GS-Nanotech plant at the end of the visit, there was a presentation of all the five Technopolis plants. The RUSNANO head asked Andrey Tkachenko, the President of the General Satellite Corporation, about the export development prospects for these plants and proposed support options for offering Technopolis products at European markets. “By receiving these grants, we will be able to buy more up-to-date equipment and broaden our horizons of activities to get into Europe”, Mr. Tkachenko noticed. In his turn, A. Chubais added: “There is quite a well-shaped demand to the government. It is important to set fair rules, including lowering administrative barriers for new technologies. And lobbying, dare I say it, at the global market.”
