Technopolis GS to present a model for innovation infrastructure successful development at the Cluster Summit in Moscow

During the Cluster Summit on November, 14, in Moscow a representative of Technopolis GS will share the experience of innovative infrastructure development on the example of a private high-tech cluster.

Cluster Summit is a major conference of the federal scale aimed at to searching and defining the conditions for the creation of clusters, development prospects and the real results of clusters in all spheres of Russian economy.

Elvira Gizatullina, Deputy Director for Strategic Development, Technopolis GS, will tell about the successful experience in the manufacture of Russian high-tech products based on an industrial park.

Ms. Gizatullina will speak during the round table “The establishment of industrial parks and technology parks as infrastructure for clusters development,” which will take place at the summit. She will deliver a report titled “Private radio-electronic cluster Technopolis GS: experience in the development of innovation infrastructure”.

Also, GS Group will reveal how the private cluster Technopolis GS differs from technoparks and why its experience is unique for Russia. GS Group has been developing the innovation cluster Technopolis GS since 2008 in the free economic zone of the Kaliningrad region, Russia.

Cluster Summit is designed for the discussion of economic development with the use of clustering technology. The Summit organizer which is RIA Novosti media holding draws special attention to the relevance of the topic: the countries that have taken the path of intensive innovative development have begun to create a new model of economic organization which is based not on industry but on clusters. According to expert estimates, development of clusters is typical today of more than 50% of the world’s economies , which gave them a significant increase in GDP. The experience of developed countries shows conclusively both efficiency and unfailing regularity of how different types of clusters occur.

The summit will raise such issues as investment in the regional economy: government support for cluster development, legislation for the high-tech business and the effectiveness of the government in creating a favorable investment climate. In addition, the best practices of the cluster initiatives in 2013 will be highlighted, new clusters presented.
